Mr Arbind Choudhary, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer at Union Bank of India (UK) Ltd is having rich experience in various facets of banking. In more than one and a half decade of industry know-how, his range of experiences span from application of operational aspects of conventions at grassroot, to administering and formulating policy blueprints at the executive stratum.
He has grown through assuming responsibilities across the spectrum in business development and leadership. From handling key strategic assignments, industry-proficiency and competence. His industrial journey includes a range of responsibilities in Bank's business development, starting from being a Credit Officer to Branch Head for Business Banking, Corporate Branch Branches in India and heading as Chief Executive of Bank’s Overseas Operation in Belgium. Mr. Choudhary has also handled responsibilities in administrative roles as Regional Head, Vertical Head at Central Office in MIS Department, Led Stressed Asset Resolution Team with the Parent Bank. He has been part of many leadership programme in the area of design thinking, Cyber security and Credit Risk Framework for banks.
A Master’s in Business Management having specialisation in Finance & Marketing, and a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB), Mr. Choudhary has also completed 'Role of Director' from Institute of Directors in UK.

Ms Dawn Brown

Independent Non - Executive Director (INED)

Appointed in September 2024 as Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Risk Committee, Dawn Brown brings over 30 years of experience in UK Banking, predominantly within Risk Management.

With a BA(Hons) degree in Economics and an MA in Development Economics (specialising in the Indian economy), her banking career started at Barclays Bank in their graduate program gaining experience working across different areas including project management and branches. In 1998 she joined the credit risk team at Direct Line Financial Services starting her career in risk management, which continued to develop across all risk disciplines including prudential, credit, operational risk, and compliance. Dawn has worked at both small and large firms, and has held Chief Risk Officer roles at small to medium-sized banks/building societies.

Dawn is a member of the Credit 500 (identified by Credit Strategy as one of the most influential individuals in credit), is a governor at Rochdale Sixth Form College, and has completed the Role of Director course at the Institute of Directors.

Syam Sunder T S

Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Syam Sunder T S assumed office as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank of India (UK) Ltd on 22 October 2025. He brings over 21 years of extensive experience in the banking industry, with strong expertise across corporate and retail banking, regulatory compliance, governance, and branch operations.

Prior to joining UBI UK Ltd, Mr. Syam Sunder served as Regional Manager at Union Bank of India, where he was responsible for a network of 90 branches and more than 700 employees. During this tenure as regional manager, he led significant improvements in business development, compliance, governance, risk management, recovery, human resources, and IT. Under his leadership, the region delivered rapid growth and achieved a top 10 ranking, reflecting his focus on operational excellence and strategic progress.

Mr. Syam Sunder also headed a Large Corporate Branch of Union Bank of India, where he successfully expanded export finance, foreign exchange, and large corporate banking activities. His leadership strengthened key corporate relationships and drove robust business performance. He has also managed several branches across diverse regions, consistently contributing to business growth and enhanced service quality.

Mr. Syam Sunder holds a postgraduate degree, is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB) and has earned an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode.

Mr. Joseph Jerry Liow Yune Loy

Independent Non - Executive Director (INED)

Jerry brings more than 30 years’ experience working in financial services to his role at Union Bank of India (UK) Limited.

Jerry has gained valuable banking and operational experience with KPMG, The Capital Group and the Swiss private banking arms of two Middle Eastern banks. He has led the development of both small and large companies, from start-up and growth right through to maturing.

In addition, his experience also includes the management of programmes for the UK Government’s Department for International Trade, the Japanese Government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a listed financial services consultancy firm.

Jerry is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and in Wales and, in addition to Union Bank of India (UK) Limited, serves as board member and chair of audit of two financial service companies. He is also the chair of the UK advisory board of auticon, a social enterprise focused on the employment of neurodivergent IT consultants.

Mr. Loknath Mishra

Non - Executive Director (NED)

Lok is a dynamic commercial banker with significant international experience in India, UK and Europe. He worked at ICICI Bank Limited (One the three systematically important banks) for about 28 years across various functions in corporate, commercial and transaction banking including as Group Head of Wholesale Bank and Global Head of Transaction Banking. He relocated to the UK as MD & CEO (SMF 1) of ICICI Bank UK Plc in 2018 and stepped down in 2024 after a successful six year stint. ICICI Bank UK is a full service commercial bank covering retail, SME, corporate and treasury services delivered through digital channels and high street branches in UK and Germany. During his tenure he turned around the banks operations, launched award winning digital banking for retail and SME customers and significantly improved asset and liability profile of the bank leading to an upgrade in external rating. He also served on the Board of Association of Foreign Banks UK and Chair of Financial services panel of FICCI UK leading policy advocacy in various forums. He was conferred with Freedom of City of London in recognition of his contribution. He also serves on the Board of Revolut India as Board Advisor.
